Today is the only Monday, May 16, 2011 we will ever get. Regardless of the fact that it's a Monday, it's still a valuable commodity - a moment in time. For many, it's the beginning of the work week, which is at times bittersweet. For some, it's a day off.
What value does this single day have in your world? What great plans do you have for today? What directive gets implemented today that's going to change your world?
Whose day is going to be better because of you?
One of my favorite verses in the Bible speaks about today - I John 2:17 - And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever.
Today is the only day we can utilize right now to further His Kingdom, the chance we have to do what pleases Him. What are your plans?
Thanks for this, Bruce! Sometimes, I squander too much time, thinking I can get it back. Truth is, once it's gone, it's gone forever! Thanks for the reminder to make right now count.
ReplyDeleteThat's where I'm at too Jeff - living in the moment vs dreaming of tomorrow. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteSo weird! Well, not really weird since it's God we're talking about. But just after blogging about "now", I found Pete Wilson's blog about the power of "now", and then your post about "today". Thank you for posting and for reinforcing the power of "today" and "now" for me.
ReplyDeleteFor me reading Pete's blog after I had written what was on my heart just further reiterated what God was telling me - slow down and embrace today.
